I am a graphic designer and avid beer geek who wants to change the world. Here is how I plan to achieve it.
What is a taste for change, you ask?
A taste represents a desire, a disposition for something more. A taste is a sense; something you savor. I have a taste for craft beer and a taste for art. Beer is tasteful, art is tasteful. Obviously everyone's tastes are different, but I believe there is a common taste: a desire for something spectacular. Craft beer represents much more than just a tasty beverage (although that is one of its many highlights). Craft beer symbolizes a community of brewers and consumers, all striving to create something amazing. Local ingredients, local action and undeniable passion combine into one movement that is changing the face of our culture. I want to change the way we think about beer and consumption, and how we can develop a quality of life leading towards a sustainable future.
Craft beer and art go hand in hand: every label, package, and bottle cap represent a visual element of a beer brand. This represents the aesthetic appearance of beer, but to me there is so much more. Brewing beer is an art. The process of brewing an Imperial IPA takes much more care and attention than that of an American pale lager, (which most beer corporations serve). For this reason, craft beer represents everything I am passionate about in this world: art, local action, sustainability, a community, and a call to action.
Art not only makes craft beer look a lot better, it makes our world look a whole lot better. Of course, as artists, we must always be conscious of waste. Materials used and produced always amount to more waste, so it is our duty, as individuals and as a global network, to put an end to waste. Stop wasting materials, stop wasting talent, stop wasting time. Now is our time. Now is our opportunity for change.
For this reason I ask you to make a choice.
To consume differently.
Think differently.
Create differently.
This campaign is a call to all artists, brewers, and makers of change. To those who wish to consume differently. To those who believe in a sustainable future. To those who give a damn. To those who have a taste for something more.
A taste for change.
