First day of work
Today I start my first day of work! The Greenpop Office is really cool and welcoming. The space is very open, with a kitchen, a large table for all the interns and desks for the directors. It is only a 30 second walk (literally) from where I am staying, the Scalibrini Guesthouse. We are located on Commercial St, which is located near the center of the city. Things are starting slow, but I'm sure once I get into the swing of things, everything will move very smoothly.
This weekend in Platbos Forest for the Reforest Fest was absolutely amazing, the setup was beautiful, most people camped in the open area, and then inside the forest it was filled with little lights and decorations. It was "Family Fest," so all parents and children were hanging around and having a wonderful time. We had chefs who cooked all our meals for us, and Saturday night was a lineup of local musicians who were awesome. The music was very chill, and created just the right atmosphere for everyone. Saturday was tree-planting day, and with everyone we planted 2,000 trees! A very hard-working, yet very successful day.
Sunday was just casual activities for all, such as walks through the forest, or craftmaking in the campsite. We left the forest about 3 PM, and drove home along the coastline, which was an incredible view! Even if I was asleep for half the time.. I think my jetlag is finally going away! One can only hope.
I have four roommates, two from Germany, one from the UK, and one from Holland. They are all super nice and funny, and at times make fun of me and my American ways. But I will definitely learn a lot from them and enjoy their company.
I should probably get back to work, so until next time! See you just now. (means "see you later," I will explain this on another post).
